According to the world-class football journalist, Fabrizio Romano, Wolves signed Sasa Kalajdzic with Stuttgart on $18m plus extra. Since his currect market value is $27.50m, the deal is a very great and also young. Stuttgart is selling him as a cheap because he has only 1 year contract left. He will fly to England and undergo medical test. He might start to play for Wolves from this weekend game.

Who is Kalajdzic?
Sasa Kalajdzic is 25-year-old, an Austrian football player who plays as a striker. His fun fact is 200cm (6ft 7in) of height. He originally played as a midfielder, but converted into a striker in his first club, Austria football club, FC Admira Wacker Molding. He joined the German club, VfB Stuttgart in 2019 with a four-year contract. He made 60 appearances and scored 24 goals total throughout 2019~22, so it was a quite good performance.

Why would Wolves sign him?
Wolves has the first striker, Raul Jimenez. He played very well in his first two season in Wolves. He made 76 appearance and scored 44 goals, but since he got a serious injury on his head in 2020, his performance is decreasing. He made 46 appearances, but only scored 11 goals. Since he is struggling, Wolves had to have a back-up striker ready, but they had none. They had many forwards like Guedes, Neto, Hwang Hee Chan, Podence, Traore, and Dendoncker, but their strengths are not finishing and they are pretty short. Wolves needed a player who can finish or colli in mid-air in a final action, so they would sign Kalajdzic.

Kalajdzic’s play style:
Kalajdzic’s play style is a typical target man. He likes to stay in the box and finish with header or foot.
I think he will get used to play in EPL very easily because he has a strong physical, but since he is not fast, he could be struggling with fast and tall defenders like Liverpool’s van Dijk and Man Utd’s Varane.

How do you rate this signing?
