[PREMIER LEAGUE] Tottenham vs Nottingham Forest – Match Report

Tottenham Hotspur had an away football game against Nottingham Forest as the last game of the 4th week of EPL today.

Nottingham was just promoted from the EPL Championship this season, and they have already signed 17 players so far. They spent $167.26m fee on players and it is ranked 3rd in the biggest spender teams on buying players this summer. The 1st was Chelsea and the 2nd was Barcelona. Nottingham is trying its best to survive in the Premier League. However, today’s result was not that sweet for them. Harry Kane scored twice and Nottingham zero, as a result, 2:0, Tottenham won.

Tottenham’s first goal:

Kane’s first goal was scored very early at 5 minutes.

Kulusevski stole the ball that was bounced from Nottingham’s midfielder, drove it near the box, and passed it to Kane who was running on his right side. Kane shot right away after his first touch outside of the box and it went into the net easily. It was very a quick and easy goal from their counterattack. At this moment, I thought Tottenham would score at least 2 more goals in the first halftime. However, Nottingham’s performance was better overall, but they couldn’t finish it. If Nottingham had a fine finisher, then Tottenham might be in danger.

Kane’s penalty kick:

At 52 minutes, Pericis crossed the ball to the center of the box where Kane was positioning. The ball was directly falling to Kane, but Nottingham’s center-back, Steve Cook who was positioned beside Kane, hit the ball out with his hand and received a yellow card. I believe he had to receive a red card because he stopped the goal chance with a foul.

Anyway, Kane was preparing the penalty kick and Nottingham’s goalkeeper Dean Henderson blocked it. Kane was succeeding 13 penalty kick goals and Henderson’s penalty save rate was 53% comparing Man United’s goalkeeper, David De Gea’s penalty save rate was only 16%.

It was a battle of shield and spear, and the shield won.

Kane’s second goal:

At 81 minutes, Richarlison who was substituted with Son picked up the ball from the edge of the box and delivered a fine cross outside of a right foot to Kane who was alone in the box, so he finished it easily. Nottingham failed to mark Kane.

Conclusion:

Overall, Nottingham was leading the game, but I think their team organization is not settled yet because they signed too many players at once.

I hoped Heung Min Son makes his first goal of this season today, but it wasn’t still his day. I hope he scores in the next game.

Tottenham’s next game is against West Ham on a weekday.

Thank you for reading:)
