[TRANSFER NEWS] Casemiro will join Mancherster United this weekend!

According to the world-class football journalist, Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid’s Brazilian defensive midfielder are set to sign a four-year contract with England football club, Man United for $60m plus $10m add-ons. There were a lot of news regarding Casemiro will join Man United, and I didn’t trust it because he is a key player in a middle side at Real Madrid. If Real Madrid sells Casemiro, they would be in trouble with defensing in the middle side, and they wouldn’t use Toni Kroos and Luka Modric. As you know, Kroos, Casemiro, and Modric is the best midfielder combination in the world. Kroos and Modric are strong at attracking from the middle and Casemiro is strong at defensing the middle widely. That’s why they are the best combination. They are same as burger, french fries and coke combination. If you are not eating them together, you feel something is not 100% perfect.

Then, why Real Marid is selling Casemiro?

Because he is old. Casemiro is 30-year-old, and it would be the last chance to sell him with a big profit to Real Marid. Real Marid has already brought Aurelien Tchouameni, a new defensive midfielder, 22-year-old with $80m + $20m add-ons. They are trying to transition from old to young generation. I think they will sell Kross and Modric by next year. However, I don’t think Tchouameni can play good as Casemiro did in Real Marid right away. I am pretty sure that Real Marid will struggle with midfielders in this season since they sold Casemiro.

Another question, why Man United is trying to buy Casemiro?

If you watched Man United’s the last two games in the Premier League, you will notice that the biggest problem is they don’t have a defensive midfielder. They are using Scott McTominay and Fred as a defensive midfielder. They are not good at defensing obviously, but good at attacking. Therefore, Erik Ten Hag tried to use Eriksen as a defensive midfield against Brentford in the second matchgame of EPL, and it was a horrible show haha. Eriksen did pressing only two time in that game, and it was the least amount after a goalkeepper. Eriksen is absolutely not strong at defensing, neither as McTominay and Fred. That’s why they are trying to sign Casemiro who can cover their mid widely.

One concern…

Yeah, Casemiro is the best defensive midfielder these days, but he is not good in building-up, ball control, and dribbling. In Man United, a player who can do those things is absent, so they were trying to sign Frenkie de Jong, but as you all know, it was failed. They still have to find a player who can carry a ball from rear to forward like de Jong or Pogba. I hope they find it before Sep 1, 2022 when the transfer market ends.

Why Casemiro accepted the contract?

Because Man United will give Casemiro a higher salary. Casemiro was earning about $10m as his salary, and he is set to earn $18m at Man United, and he will earn up to $20m if Man United qualify the Championship Leauge next season. It is almost double! Yeah, it is tempting to him. Another reason is Casemiro has already won every trophys he can get at Real Madrid. He won 5 times of UEFA Champions League, 3 times of UEFA Super Cup, 3 times of FIFA Club World Cup, 3 times of Spanish La Liga, 3 times of Spanish Super Cup, and 1 time of Spanish Cup. Yeah, he is ready to be challenged, but he will win no trophys at Man United to be hoest, in 3 years at least. Man City and Liverpool are way better than Man United. Tottenham and Arsenal even seem better than Man United these days.

I hope Man United restore the glory of the past soon when Alex Ferguson was the manager.
